Module 9- Activity 5: Reflect

A said ‘if length of a rectangle is increased by 1 and breadth decreased by 1 the area enclosed by the rectangle remains the same’. B said ‘No, A is wrong as the new area will increase’.   C said ‘No, A and B both are wrong, the new area will decrease’.   How will you handle this situation?

  1. Here both no.A and no. B are wrong because if the length is increased and breadth is decreased , so, the area will automatically change. So no.C is correct as the area is ultimately decreased.
    Area of rectangle=l*b . suppose if length is 8cm and wide is 6cmthen, 8*6=48.If length increase by 1 and breadth decrease by 1,then area of rectangle=9*5=45.From the above statement C is correct situation.

  7. क्षेत्रफल वही रहेगा लेकिन लंबाई चौड़ाई कम ज्यादा होगा। बच्चों को डायग्राम बना कर समझाना पड़ेगा। तभी बच्चों को समझ मे आएगा।

  10. Accurate explanation of notion is required to be clear to students. Allowing the students for their conclusions, teacher should show them examples and give rational elucidation. The teacher should educate students about area of rectangle by citing examples.

  11. if the difference between length and breadth is 1 unit we increase or decrease 1 in length or
    breadth respectively in rectangle. the area of rectangle remain same.
    and if the difference between Length and breadth are more than 1 unit the area of rectangle change.

  13. In the aforesaid situation ....the teacher should clar the doubts of students by making them to learn the mathematical formulas of finding out area.
    By citing some examples their doubts will automatically clear..
    They will be clear their doubts by applying formulas to find area...and the learning outcomes will be achieved .

  15. with example we will explain
    length = 10 unit and breadth = 3 unit then area = 10x3=30 square unit
    if length of rectangle is increased by 1 and breadth decreased by 1 then we have
    length = 11 unit and breadth = 2 unit then area = 11x2=22 square unit
    again if length of rectangle is increased by 1 and breadth decreased by 1 then we have
    length = 12 unit and breadth = 1 unit then area = 12x1=12 square unit
    again if length of rectangle is increased by 1 and breadth decreased by 1 then we have
    length = 13 unit and breadth = 0 unit then area = 13x0=0 square unit
    means we will get straight line. it shows that if length of rectangle is increased by 1 and breadth decreased by 1 then area of rectangle will decrease.

  16. सबसे पहले हम बच्चे को यह सिखाएंगे की लंबाई और चौड़ाई क्या होती है उसके बाद हम यह बताएंगे बच्चे को कि यह दोनों मिलकर चतुर्भुज कैसे बनाता है उसके बाद हम हैं बताएंगे बच्चे को की चतुर्भुज का एरिया यानी कि क्षेत्रफल निकालने के लिए हम लंबाई और चौड़ाई को गुणा करते हैं अब हम बच्चे को यह सिखाएंगे कि रैक्टेंगल का एरिया कैसे निकालते हैं और वोऔर मान लो कि कोई पूर्व का रेक्टेंगल ऐसा था और उसको कम ज्यादा करने के बाद पूर्व का एरिया पहले निकाली फिर ज्यादा काम करके फिर से एरिया में

  18. सबसे पहले हम बच्चे को सिखाएंगे की लंबाई और चौड़ाई क्या होती है उसके पश्चात बताएंगे कि दोनों को मिलाकर चतुर्भुज कैसे बनाया जाता है। इसके बाद बच्चे को चतुर्भुज का एरिया यानी कि क्षेत्रफल निकालने के लिए लंबाई एवं चौड़ाई को गुणा करना बताएंगे। अब लंबाई एवं चौड़ाई को कम ज्यादा करने के बाद पुनः उसी विधि से क्षेत्रफल निकालना बताएंगे उसके पश्चात नए चतुर्भुज के क्षेत्रफल एवं पुराने चतुर्भुज के क्षेत्रफल की तुलना करेंगे। ऐसे दो तीन उदाहरण देकर शिक्षक द्वारा बच्चे को समझाया जाए।

  21. सबसे पहले बच्चों को आयत के बारे में तथा उसका क्षेत्रफल कैसे निकाला जाता है ,के बारे में जानकारी देनी होगी। तत्पश्चात अलग-अलग उदाहरणों से समझाकर उनके सन्देह दूर किए जा सकते हैं।

  33. As a teacher we can give them a example of rectangular object like page with desired dimensions and then alter that page with dimensions that required. Allowing the students for their conclusions.definately by looking the page in different situation they got result.and at last link this example with the formula of area of rectangle.

  34. अलग - अलग स्थिति में तीनों A, B, C सही है। स्थिति -I जब b- I = 1चौड़ाई लम्बाई से 1 अधिक है तब क्षेत्रफल बराबर होगा 1)लम्बाई × चौडाई=3×4=12 2)(3+1)×(4-1)=4×3=12 स्थिति - 2 जब लम्बाई बड़ा है चौडाई से तब क्षेत्रफल कम होगा 1) 4 X3 = 12 2) (4+1) × (3-1) = 5×2 = 1 0 1) 6×4 = 2 4 2 )(6+1) × (4-1) = 7 × 3= 2 1 स्थिति - 3 जब चौड़ाई लम्बाईसे बड़ा है। अन्तर 1 से अधिक है।तब क्षेत्रफल अधिक होगा 1)4×6 = 2 4 2) (4+1) X (6-1) = 5 × 7 = 35

  41. सर्वप्रथम छात्रों को लंबाई एवं चौड़ाई किस तरह से निकाली जाती है इसको समझाना होगा। तत्पश्चात त्रिभुज, चतुर्भुज ,पंचभुज ,षट्भुज आदि का रेखा चित्र बनाकर उन्हें समझाना होगा और चतुर्भुज का सूत्र बतलाना होगा।

  42. All three are right at different satuations.we can handle this problem by giving different examples such as.
    1) let L=5 W=4 then
    Area=5*4=20
    If L increased by 1,W decreased by1 then
    Area=6*3=18 in this condition C is correct
    2) let L=6,W=7
    Area=42
    If L increased by 1 ,W decreased by 1then
    Area=7*6=42 in this condition
    A is correct
    3) let L =4, W=7
    Area=4*7=28
    If L increased by 1,W decreased by 1then
    Area=5*6=30 in this condition
    B is correct.
    Thus A,B,C are correct.
